Joe Kraus
Audiologist
Dr. Joe Kraus graduated with his bachelor’s degree in Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences and his Doctorate of Audiology from the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley. He completed his externship at a hearing and tinnitus center and gained additional clinical experience through medical and educational placements with the VA and CBOCES. Prior to joining The Hearing Place, Joe provided hearing healthcare services in Arvada, Colorado.
Born with hearing loss himself, Dr. Kraus understands firsthand the importance of communication and the impact hearing can have on everyday life. He is passionate about helping patients improve their hearing, reconnect with loved ones, and feel confident in their daily communication. Dr. Kraus is dedicated to providing compassionate, patient-centered care and strives to make every patient feel comfortable, supported, and heard throughout their hearing journey.
What is your favorite part about working with your patients?
One of my favorite parts of working with patients is seeing the growth that happens over time. Whether it’s hearing their grandchildren more clearly, feeling confident in conversations again, or getting back to activities they started avoiding, it is rewarding to watch people reconnect with the things and people that mean the most to them.
What is your favorite sound that you always want to be able to hear?
It is hard to pick just one. The sound of laughter will always be a the top of the list, but as a lifelong baseball fan, the crack of a wood bat on a perfectly hit baseball is hard to beat.
What is your favorite activity to do outside of work?
Outside of work, you will usually find me on a golf course, watching my sports teams, or spending time with my dog, Gus. Any chance to be out in the Colorado sunshine is time well spent.
