Dr. Brittany Mathisen
Owner/Audiologist
Dr. Brittany Mathisen graduated with both her bachelor’s degree in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology and a Doctorate in Audiology from the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley. She completed her externship at Denver Health Medical Center. She spent six years in Fairbanks, Alaska working at an ear, nose, and throat (ENT) clinic performing a variety of diagnostic examinations including cochlear implant qualifications, infant/adult auditory brainstem responses, and examination/fitting of hearing aids for all ages, infants to adults. She has since moved back to her home state of Colorado and is the owner of The Hearing Place. Dr. Mathisen’s passion is to help each person hear to their best abilities and have successful communication with loved ones.
What is your favorite part about working with your patients?
I love working with my patients because every person has a different story. Each person has their own motivations to achieve better hearing and I love to help people find the solutions. Sometimes the solution can be easy and others more complex but in the end my goal is to always get patients communicating better with loved ones.
What is your favorite sound that you always want to be able to hear?
Winter is my favorite season so I love to hear the crunch of snow under my feet. But I also love summer mornings. I spend time in my garden listening to the birds and insects buzz around.
What is your favorite activity to do outside of work?
I love to spend time with my husband and two sons. We enjoy camping and spending time outdoors. A new hobby we have all been enjoying during the summer is paddle boarding. We also spend a lot of time at the baseball fields watching our sons play. In the winter you will still find us in the mountains playing in the snow.
