Hearing aids have changed so much over the years, you might not think of them as a “smart” technology. They are changing the lives of those with hearing loss and have become modern, discreet and durable.

ReSound

ReSound, one of the World’s largest providers of hearing aids and diagnostic audio logical instrumentation, has advanced hearing aid technology to make hearing effortless. Their Spatial Sense surround sound supports your brain’s sound processing ability, allowing you to hear more with less effort. Spatial Sense provides a natural sense of where sounds are coming from, giving you a better picture of your surroundings. Add that with their Binaural Directionality and you can understand every word of a conversation even in noisy situations.

Their hearing aids are constructed to fight off water, dust and corrosive substances such as earwax and sweat. They are also able to connect to iPhone, iPad or iPod touch devices to make your hearing aids work like Bluetooth stereo headphones. With their ReSound Smart app you can easily change your hearing aid settings at anytime; reduce background noise, cut out wind noise and focus on speech to make the speaker’s words sound clearer.

Phonak

Phonak has brought complete discretion to hearing aids with their Lyric hearing aid. It’s been designed to be worn 24/7 for months at at time. Lyric allows sound to flow into the ear by utilizing the ear’s natural shape to capture sound and amplify it. Without the need for battery replacements or daily maintenance thanks to patented moisture protection mechanisms and breathable materials, you can experience clear sound all the time.

Phonak has also developed a table microphone perfect for work meetings, which transmits clear speech directly to your hearing aids. It can be used for up to 20 hours a day before needing to be recharged.

The Hearing Place offers a wide range of hearing aid technology including ReSound and Phonak. Whether you’re just looking for information or are ready to be fitted, our highly skilled and trained audiologists and staff are ready to help you.
